Top of the Line has been a Visalia holiday tradition for 25 years. This year we expect 220 artisans and crafters and 8,000 attendees to join us on November 7, 8, and 9 for an extravaganza of festivities and a mad shopping frenzy.
Top of the Line is not just an art & crafts fair, a festival or a traditional fundraiser, but it has elements of all three. As soon as shoppers enter the beautifully decorated Visalia Convention Center, they will be plunged into the holiday spirit because of the festive décor and seasonal music. Entertainment is provided Saturday and Sunday. Attendees will be provided with a directory that lists the wares of each vendor, cross referenced to a map locating them all. Oversized shopping bags are available from a local youth group which sells them as a fundraiser.
The all new 2008 Holiday Marketplace will feature merchants offering unique items for the entire family, including clothing, accessories, jewelry, home and garden décor, fine arts, pottery and ceramics, woodcrafts, metal sculptures, gourmet food, toys, and much more. All artisans and crafters will be located in the Exhibit Hall, small Ballrooms and in the Lobby. All imported handcrafted items, commercial gift, jewelry, and food items as well as antiques, will be located in the upstairs ballrooms. Entertainment during the 2007 show included a pianist, choirs, barbershop quartet, dance groups and more.
We have united with the local YMCA to provide child care and we will be offering craft activities for children. We are organizing demonstrations by vendors so that attendees will have a better appreciation of the skill and time it takes to create works of art, as well as an opportunity to learn to make various craft items.
To enhance the overall shopping experience, we provide a package check system, complete with carryout service to attendees’ cars. There is free parking within walking distance of the facility. An entrance fee of $6.00 is charged, and discount coupons are widely distributed.
The 3 day event begins with an upscale ticketed preview party and private shopping on the eve of the show (Very Important Buyer's Party or VIB). A raffle, held throughout the night, is sponsored by our vendors through donation of gift certificates to be used only in the donor’s booth. The entire event is organized and operated by Soroptimist International of Visalia, Inc. The proceeds from this event are used to support projects in the community and world wide that benefit women and children.
